February 19th, 2021 by

In the midst of the competitive truck segment, Nissan still offers their full-size pickup truck, the new 2021 Titan XD, in an effort to appeal to willing buyers. For 2021, the Titan XD steps up its game with enhanced features both on the interior and exterior. Compared to its more popular domestic rivals, the Titan XD is a unique offering that sits in the middle spectrum of premium utility and performance. Not meant for extreme performance, the 2021 Titan XD is met with innovative Japanese engineering that delivers on both interior aesthetics and unique exterior styling. Coupled with a 400 hp 5.6L V8  and a smooth-shifting nine-speed automatic transmission, the 2021 Titan XD is capable of being an ideal work truck and for hauling small to medium-sized payloads.

Overview of 2021 Nissan Titan XD

Japanese design is subtle, unique, and aggressive in areas where it should be, and the 2021 Nissan Titan XD delivers on all these elements. The driver is presented with an interior cabin that is serene and welcoming. Opting for the very top trim like the Platinum Reserve Trim offers a wide selection of premium materials such as genuine leather, wood accents, and other soft-touch materials that give the overall cabin an upscale feel. The Titan’s truck bed is surprisingly impressive for carrying cargo. Every Titan trim has a spring-assisted tailgate that makes loading and unloading easy, including the addition of in-bed cargo boxes for extra storage. In terms of exterior design, the higher trims of the Nissan Titan XD comes with Nissan’s signature LED headlights and taillights, the option of 20” x 7.5” silver or dark-painted machine-finished aluminum-alloy wheels, a prominent satin chrome front grille, and 4×4 off-road ride height.

4×4 DriveTrain

Every 2021 Nissan Titan XD regardless of its trim level has 4×4 driving capability which means all four wheels are powered evenly by its drivetrain. This is an attractive selling point for consumers looking to buy an entry-level trim, other brands only offer 4×2 capability for their entry-level trims which can be a deal-breaker. As a 4×4 vehicle, the Titan XD has increased traction and stability giving it the ability to handle challenging weather conditions with ease. Driving through rain, snow, or mud is easier with 4×4 capability, which also makes the Titan XD a great performer in off-road environments. For the outdoors person or adventure seeker, a Titan can be an excellent choice.

Base Titan vs.Titan XD

The starting price for the 2021 Titan XD is $46,000 (plus destination fee)  which is $8,000 more than the standard model and this extra money is worth the investment depending on your exact needs for the truck. For starters, the Titan XD is bigger than the standard model in terms of wheelbase length and height. The fact that it’s substantially bigger means it has more interior cabin space and cargo-carrying capacity. If hauling heavy equipment is on your todo-list, the Titan XD can pull up to 11,000 pounds while the standard model can only haul up to 9,000 pounds, despite the fact the Titan XD is heavier by 780 pounds.

Thinking of Buying One?

When we think of trucks, we automatically assume they are only meant for power and towing capability. But safety also matters in the truck segment and the Titan XD brings a whole host of safety features as standard equipment.

Safety features include:

  • Forward Collison Warning
  • Emergency Braking
  • Blind-spot monitoring
  • Rear Cross-traffic alert
  • Lane Departure Warning
  • Rear Automatic Emergency Braking
  • Pedestrian detection
