Pricing Announced For the 2020 Nissan Titan and 2020 Nissan Titan XD
Nissan just made some big changes to its half-ton pickup truck, the Titan, for the 2020 model year. Most changes happened under the pickup’s skin, with the most substantial change being the retuning of the Titan’s only engine, the brand’s Endurance 5.6-liter V8. Now up 10 horsepower and 19 lb-ft of torque when compared to the 2019 model, the Endurance engine provides the revamped Titan with 400 horsepower and 413 lb-ft of torque. Additionally, the engine is now paired to an all-new nine-speed automatic transmission — previous Titan models were paired with a seven-speed automatic instead.
On the outside, the 2020 Titan model features new headlights, new taillights, a slightly modified grille and bumpers, with a special focus on differing accents among trim levels. Nissan went above and beyond in the interior, swapping out the clunky and outdated infotainment system and its 7-inch touchscreen display, opting for either an 8- or 9-inch infotainment display. Nissan refers to the 9-inch touchscreen display as its Integrated Command Center, making it the top-tier infotainment system that the brand offers.
Nissan is often generous with its standard features and the 2020 Titan is no different as it’s equipped with the brand’s Safety Shield 360 technology suite. Features that make up Nissan’s Safety Shield 360 include: pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, forward collision mitigation, blind-spot monitoring, lane departure warning, rear cross-traffic alerts, and high-beam assist.
Pricing was not announced when the 2020 Titan was first unveiled, but Nissan has now provided a starting MSRP. The base-tier two-wheel-drive King Cab S trim has a starting MSRP of $36,190 (plus destination fee), not bad for a pickup that’s got quite a bit of standard features and a decent warranty. Prices increase incrementally as buyers climb the different trim tiers, with interior accents and materials improving as they go. The 2020 Titan is slated to hit dealer showrooms in early 2020.
Nissan Titan XD
The 2020 Nissan Titan model wasn’t the only pickup truck from Nissan’s lineup to get a bit of a revamp, the 2020 Nissan Titan XD model received one as well. While the Titan XD has the same horsepower and torque figures as the previously-mentioned Titan model, it’s got plenty of other factors that put it in its own class — including its unique frame and chassis, and a wheelbase that’s 15 inches longer than the Titan. According to Nissan, the 2020 XD has been reinforced and strengthened thanks to a full-length ladder frame that allows it to tow heavier loads than the Titan. Nissan even offers a range of hitches, including a gooseneck hitch that’s already integrated into the frame of the pickup.
The XD model also offers other towing assistance features such as trailer sway control, tow/haul mode with downhill speed control, an integrated trailer brake controller, and a trailer light check system that can be activated with the key fob. Just like the Titan model, the XD is powered by the same V8 engine and is paired to the new nine-speed automatic transmission. The 2020 Nissan Titan Xd has a starting MSRP of $44,580 (plus destination fee).
