The All-New Nissan X-Trail Debuts in Japan!

Japan finally gets the beautiful opportunity to debut the all-new Nissan X-Trail and it brings with it a second-generation e-power hybrid powertrain that was worth the wait! Nissan launched this fourth-generation X-Trail and unlike the ICE-powered US-spec Nissan Rogue and the Australian version of the X-Trail, the Japanese version of this SUV offers buyers the exclusive opportunity to enjoy this vehicle in an electrified form with a hybrid powertrain that is available in two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive (e-4ORCE). Europe might also be able to expect the same setup of this vehicle to head to them as well!
About the Nissan X-Trail
The Nissan X-Trail will share the CMF-C architecture that is found within the Mitsubishi Outlander. The new hybrid powertrain will be a self-charging one that combines the variable compression ratio 1.5-liter VC-Turbo petrol three-cylinder engine with the phenomenal second-generation e-POWER system. It has been said that this incredible system will be improving its power, quietness, and smoothness when compared to its predecessor. Though Nissan hasn’t announced specific details on the powertrain, the brand did say that the combustion engine is not connected to the wheels so it limits its role as a generator for the electric motors. It will also feature the e-Pedal Step technology that applies regenerative braking whenever the driver lifts up the throttle.
A Closer Look at the Nissan X-Trail
Let’s take a closer look at the exterior and interior of this beautiful vehicle that will be available in Japan starting July 25th. The fourth-generation X-Trail looks visually similar to the Nissan Rogue that was integrated into the lineup in late 2020. It will incorporate a sleep, split-headlight design, black A-pillars, tones read shoulders, aluminum-style skid plates, and a chrome-infused V-motion grille. It will be available in twelve different body colors that include the beloved Cardinal Red as well as five two-tone colorways. Inside, however, is where the magic happens. A 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster with two display modes, a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen, and a 10.8-inch head-up display adorn the interior of this special vehicle. All of these features still allow for five passengers to sit comfortably, however, there is also a three-row variant that allows the space to seat seven!
Some other features to look out for include the Bose Premium Sound System that was specifically enhanced for the X-Trail, unique customization options, an upgraded Nissan Safety Assist 360 (with cameras), and much more! The Nissan X-Trail will be available for ¥3,198,800 (equivalent to $23,150 USD plus destination fee) for the base trim and can go up to ¥4,499,000 (equivalent to $32,557 USD plus destination fee) for the flagship G e-4ORCE four-wheel drive hybrid!
